US Ends Longest DHS Shutdown, But Leaves ICE Funding Unresolved

The longest partial shutdown of the DHS was brought to an end when US legislators passed a bill to finance the department. Although this has enabled restoration of funding, it does not include funding for ICE or the Border Patrol. This is because there are differences between the parties regarding immigration enforcement.
